Pam Mordecai reads in Calgary on March 4 and March 6

On Wednesday, March 4 at 7:00 p.m. at Pages Bookstore, 1135 Kensington Road NW, I read at an event sponsored by the Canada Council and the Creative Writing Research Group at the University of Calgary. The reading is free and open to the public.

On Friday, March 6 at 7:30 pm at St Stephen’s Anglican Church, 1121 14 Avenue SW, Calgary, Calgary resident, Howard Gallimore will join me in a reading of my Good Friday performance poem, de Man. Howard reads the part of Samuel and I read Naomi. Naomi (maid to Pilate’s wife) and Samuel meet on the road to Calgary for the first time in a long time and report on the crucifixion event as it takes place. The reading is free and open to the public. Books on sale, part proceeds in aid of the Church.

Not related to your post, specifically -- but why doesn't your website link to your blog? Love.

Hi rlmbookuser:
Thanks for stopping by. Yours is a good question, easily answered. Website has not been updated in years... Getting there soon, hopefully, at which time, links will be in place. Thanks for the nudge. Trying just now to keep up with writing, keep up with the occasional rushing off to read somewhere, keep up with the blog, keep up with e-mail, endure the last bit of winter, ensure regular visits to unbelievably precious granddaughter and parents across the border... Love to you too...

Hope the readings went very well.

Hi Rethabile:
First thanks for kind comments on "Letter to a Young Writer" on Geoff's blog. The readings, all three, went very well indeed, and it was good to be back in the classroom. Some of the teachers in training and of the students I met give me a lot of hope... And as always, thank you for stopping by. P&L

I just had to come over and tell you, as I told Geoffrey, that I thought of you both yesterday because I was reading a poster in Lesotho and in Sesotho against AIDS. It took the idea of '1Love' and used it to instigate people to have one love, not many. Yet another useful ramification.

That's tremendous, Rethabile! Wow! Thanks for letting us know! I've just finished a novel that features an African priest who is involved in HIV/AIDS education and treatment. Wish I had had that idea! Maybe I'll use it still! Thanks again! Peace and Love!
